Pre-Wedding Moments with Shiara & Josh

Shiara Calmes & Josh Cook were married on April 18th at The Belltower on 34th, in Houston. It was such a beautiful venue that it seemed overwhelming at how lovely everything was.  The doors were carved to adorn a palace, water fountains echoed in the courtyard, stucco walls, brick paths...amazing place! The afternoon started off with rain as everyone got ready but no one seemed to care.

Shiara & Josh's Engagement - Houston, TX

With only a few days away from their wedding day, Shiara & Josh were able to steal away a few minutes one evening as the sun was setting in Houston.  It was quite a memory for all three of us on how we got to this beautiful field, but I think we are glad we did it!  These two created some of the most romantic, earthy and natural engagement photos I've experienced in a while.  I kept telling them they should go into modeling as a couple, I can see them in the next "Republic are Us" ads.  So, here are a few from that session...

Beautiful Girl

I recently moved and bought a couple pieces of eclectic furniture (which I am so proud of, by the way!) but I also made some new friends with my neighbors next door since I've moved.  The mother of four little ones (all under the age of 4, no less!) constantly amazes me. One night as I was sitting on my little porch she invited me over to have a plate of her delicious dinner. In exchange I asked if I could photograph her sweet 1 month old, baby girl, Zainab. One of the things that stood out to me was how much gorgeous hair Zainab had!  So here are few of her in her 1 month glory of babyhood.

Kelly & Laura were married on March 27, 2010 at Bethel World Outreach church. I want to just extend my congratulations to them; I so enjoyed being a part of their big day and to witness the beauty of their ceremony. So much richness and depth was present! Between the ceremony and reception we were able to make a stop at a lovely home and take some photos together. We all enjoyed the privacy and beauty of this amazing property (many thanks, again, for letting us be there!). These are of that moment in the day.
